STRIX, Manoeuvre Class Unmanned Aerial System

The STRIX system is an Electrical Manoeuvre Class UAS Unit. It can be launched by hand or catapult and has been specifically designed for Manoeuvres and Special Operation support. The STRIX UAS is carried using a compact light weight back pack, which includes the minimal operable configuration. STRIX is fully autonomous and can be used as a critical node in a fully integrated Networked surveillance system. STRIX flies autonomously toward designated waypoint and controlled on a hand ground station through the free-controlled flight or the target mode flight. The system has a really simple ground logistic and could be completely operated by a single operator.

Key Benefits

The STRIX is specifically designed to support tactical units with short range "over the hill" and "around the corner" intelligence and assist in force protection in urban operations in both the daylight and night performances. It has proven to be simply operable under difficult weather conditions, uncomfortable landing environment and with really short training. Moreover the system has an integrated POD that is architecturally.

Sequences

Confortable Handling, the operable system weight less than 25 Kg and is operable by one single opeator.

Really quick deployment and take off, the system is operable in less than 8 minutes.

Quick, simple and intuitive mission planning, modification and management using touch screen functionalities.

Automatic take off simply pushing the catapult launch release, the airplane will automatically flight up to the first planned way point.

Automatic flight through the planned way point or operator flight director direct control under the autopilot constraint.

Video streaming with super impressed relevant telemetry data, manual targeting using the POD pan, tilt and zoom or automatic targeting using the target lock function.

Automatic landing in two modalities: standard aircraft flared landing with final approach aligned and centred to the planned airfield up to the planned touch down point or constant descent spiral landing with the final flared approach.
